Muse Wonder Full Lands Just Behind Opus 5.5
Topics: AI Models & Benchmarks
Launch day scores are marketing. Independent index scores are at least an attempt at measurement. Meta Superintelligence Labs launched Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full on October 12, 2026, and the first outside scoreboard, the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index as reported by VentureBeat, puts the flagship near the front of the pack, but not at the front.
The scoreboard
| Model | Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index |
|---|---|
| Claude Opus 5.5 | 58 |
| Muse Wonder Full | 56 |
| GPT 6 Astra | 53 |
| Claude Fable 5.1 | 53 |
| Muse Wonder | 52 |
Two points behind Claude Opus 5.5 is a strong first showing for a new line. It is also, precisely, second place. Both halves of that sentence matter, because launch coverage tends to keep only one of them.
The catch in the fine print
The model with the 56 is not the model you can use. At launch, only the weaker Muse Wonder, the one scoring 52, is available via API. The flagship's number is therefore a claim about a product that exists, performs, and is not yet in customers' hands. That does not make the score fake; independent testing is independent testing. It makes the score a preview, and previews deserve a different weight than shipping products.
A benchmark tells you what a model did in a test harness. It says nothing about what it will do in your workflow, at your price, today.
The honest summary: Meta has a frontier class model on paper and a mid pack model in the API. When Full ships to developers, the comparison gets real. Until then, the scoreboard is a promissory note with good numbers on it.
What the launch shows / what it doesn't
- Shows: Muse Wonder Full scored 56 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index, behind Claude Opus 5.5 at 58 and ahead of GPT 6 Astra and Claude Fable 5.1 at 53, as reported by VentureBeat.
- Doesn't show: real world performance in your tasks, at your cost. And the 56 belongs to a model that is not yet available via API; the API model, Muse Wonder, scored 52.
- Status: launch reporting by Reuters, benchmark figures reported by VentureBeat. Index scores move as models and tests are updated.
